Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PedigreeHQ ("PedigreeHQ," "we," "us," or "our"), a software-as-a-service platform operated by Hazard Software Services LLC, an Indiana limited liability company, doing business as PedigreeHQ.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Accounts must be created and managed by an adult. Youth participants (including 4-H exhibitors) may only use the Service under the supervision of an adult account holder.

The Service

PedigreeHQ provides cloud-based tools for:

  • Pedigree and breeding management
  • Animal records and show history
  • Data exports and sharing
  • Optional marketplace and show management tools

Features may change over time.

Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activity occurring under your account

You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

Subscriptions & Payments

  • Subscriptions are billed through Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record.
  • Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing, taxes, and refunds.
  • Pricing, billing cycles, and renewal terms are displayed at checkout.
  • By subscribing, you explicitly consent to automatic renewal and recurring charges according to your chosen billing cycle (monthly or yearly).
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of service.
  • We reserve the right to increase prices with advance notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price changes take effect.

Refund Policy

We offer refunds to customers who are not satisfied with the current service:

  • Monthly subscribers: Refund for the current month
  • Yearly subscribers: Refund for the unused remainder of the yearly subscription

License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PedigreeHQ for personal or household use in accordance with these Terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, copy, or resell the Service
  • Scrape or extract proprietary data or schemas
  • Interfere with system integrity or security
  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes

User Content & Data

You retain ownership of the data you enter.

By using the Service, you grant PedigreeHQ a limited license to host, process, and display your data solely to operate the Service.

You may export and/or delete your data at any time.

Data Loss Disclaimer

While we take reasonable measures to protect data, PedigreeHQ is not responsible for data loss, corruption, or deletion. You are responsible for maintaining backups of exported data.

Third-Party Services

PedigreeHQ integrates with third-party services (e.g., Lemon Squeezy, analytics tools). We are not responsible for third-party services.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

You may cancel your subscription at any time.

Termination Protocol & Data Retention

If you stop paying or cancel your subscription:

  • Your data will be retained for 12 months from the date of cancellation.
  • You may request immediate deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@pedigreehq.com.
  • If you resume your subscription within the 12-month retention period, your data will be restored.
  • After 12 months, your data will be permanently deleted unless you have resumed your subscription or requested earlier deletion.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

Service Availability

  • Uptime is not guaranteed. PedigreeHQ is not liable for service interruptions, server outages, or downtime.
  • We reserve the right to take the service offline for maintenance, updates, or repairs without advance notice and without penalty.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to minimize disruptions, but cannot guarantee continuous availability.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PEDIGREEHQ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict of law principles.
